"OFF THE BEATEN TRACK"
A wild sanctuary in the heart of Botswana
Nestling in the heart of Botswana, the Okavango Delta is one of Africa's most unique and unspoilt ecosystems. Unlike other deltas that flow into the sea, the Okavango spreads across the arid plains of the Kalahari Desert, creating a lush oasis in the middle of a normally dry landscape. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, this sanctuary offers exceptional biodiversity and a totally immersive safari experience.
The delta is a veritable aquatic labyrinth, made up of winding channels, sparkling lagoons, flood plains and forested islands that evolve to the rhythm of the annual floods. This seasonal dynamic attracts an extraordinary concentration of animals, making the delta an ideal refuge for wildlife. Elephants, lions, leopards, rhinos and buffalo - the famous Big Five - live alongside a host of other iconic species, including wild dogs, cheetahs, hippos, Nile crocodiles and an impressive variety of more than 400 bird species.
To explore the Okavango is to experience nature in all its forms. Safaris in mokoro - traditional dugout canoes gliding silently through the waters - offer a unique and intimate approach to the wildlife. 4x4 expeditions take you deep into the bush, while walking safaris reveal a different face of the delta, where every track tells a story. For an even more breathtaking perspective, overflights by plane or helicopter reveal the immensity of the delta from a spectacular angle.
A true wilderness sanctuary, the Okavango Delta is a must-see destination for nature lovers and wildlife photographers: one of the most beautiful on the African continent. Each season reveals a different landscape, offering travellers an ever-changing experience in the heart of one of Africa's last great wildernesses.
One of the great strengths of this place is the absence of mass tourism and the opportunity to get off the beaten track to photograph the wildlife in the best possible conditions. In the heart of the Okavango's best concessions, you'll have the opportunity to capture breathtaking images of these animals in the delta's lush vegetation.
This safari is more than just a photographic journey; it's a true discovery, guided by passionate experts of the region who know this territory and its secrets intimately.

An aquatic sanctuary at the heart of wildlife
The Okavango Delta is one of the few places where the wildlife reveals itself throughout the year, to the rhythm of the floods and the seasons. Each period offers a unique experience, from mokoro safaris to 4x4 explorations and aerial observations. It all depends on how adventurous and photographic you feel.
Dry season
April to June
With the arrival of the waters from the Angolan highlands in May, the Okavango Delta is transformed into an immense network of canals, lagoons and flood plains. Wildlife scatters across this lush oasis, attracting elephants, water antelopes, hippos and a wide variety of birds. Mokoro safaris offer a unique close-up experience, while the lush vegetation and soft light create stunning scenes for wildlife photography.
In between season
July to October
The water level in the Delta is at its highest during August. As the water begins to recede, wildlife concentrates around the remaining lagoons, providing spectacular hunting scenes. Wild dogs have cubs to feed and predators such as cheetahs are particularly active. Safaris by 4x4, on foot or by plane allow you to admire the richness of the delta from different angles, revealing a landscape of contrasting wetlands and drylands.
The green season
November to March
With the first rains, the delta wakes up under a green blanket. This is the birthing season, when young impala, wildebeest and zebra can be seen. Predators are on the move, taking advantage of this abundance of prey. This is also an exceptional time for birdwatching, with the arrival of many migratory species. Less crowded, this season offers ideal conditions for peaceful and immersive safaris.
